Symmetrical AWD
This unique system sees the transmission, transfer to propeller shaft and rear differential sit in a straight line behind the engine, meaning that it is compact and bilaterally balanced with a low centre of gravity. Additionally, if a wheel slips, the torque distribution between the front and rear is automatically readjusted. The advantages of this rally-derived design include superb rotational balance, low vibration, and the ability to position the engine lower in the car for a reduced centre of gravity. The cylinders are positioned 180 degrees apart on both sides of the crankshaft, forming the Horizontally-Opposed SUBARU BOXER Engine. Over 40 years of Boxer development. The SUBARU BOXER was first utilised in the Subaru 1000 back in 1965. The engine also benefits from the Dual Active Valve Control System (Dual AVCS), which helps to produce a flat torque curve across a wide rev range.

Choose the mode that offers you the most satisfying driving experience: Intelligent mode: This offers silky smooth performance, comfort and ideal fuel economy around town and on longer cruising. Controlled intelligently, it also allows you to enjoy the level of output you desire. Sports mode: The recommended mode in a variety of conditions - It provides linear response in everyday driving or on motorways. Sport Sharp mode: Designed to enable you to fully exploit the turbocharged 2.5-litre engine with instant throttle response and precise revving into the red zone. |
Multi-mode DCCD (Driver's Control Centre Differential)
Adjusting the centre differential, along with the helically and electromagnetically controlled LSD helps to ensure that excellent turning capability and stability is achieved in each mode: Manual mode: Allows a 6-step adjustment of the centre differential locking force. Three automatic modes: Three different modes of centre differential LSD characteristics can be selected depending on the driving conditions or your preferences: Auto: The default mode when the engine is started and one that can handle most conditions. Auto [+]: Increases centre differential locking force for enhanced stability. This mode focuses on traction when driving on slippery roads. Auto [-]: Decreases centre differential locking force for enhanced turning capability. Here the emphasis is on agile and responsive handling on winding roads. |

Designed to offer flexibility and ease of vehicle control, there are three Vehicle Dynamics Control System modes available:
Normal mode (Default): Integrated control of Vehicle Dynamics Control, Traction control, and ABS to assist driving when sideways slipping is detected.
Traction mode: This mode restricts the traction control and Vehicle Dynamics Control System functions and delays brake control intervention timing. In this mode there is no engine torque-down control.
Off mode: Useful in slippery conditions like snow or mud, only ABS is activated in this mode.
Hill Start Assist: Active in any mode.

Rear double wishbone suspension system
This firm, yet agile system hugs the road surface for a more exhilarating drive. Again, camber and toe changes have been designed to ensure that the tyres remain firmly planted on the ground during body roll or when driving over rough roads. The stroke has been used to its full capacity for more agile contact and each minor detail from the road surface is passed through to the suspension to ensure that the vehicle remains stable when turning. In addition, shocks received when driving over bumps are absorbed smoothly, while the use of large sub-frame bushes and the extended wheel stroke bring a completely new approach to overall ride comfort |
