Honda Philippines
When it comes to automotive pop culture, Honda is by no means the bell ringer in almost each and every current generation car enthusiast here in the Philippines and elsewhere around the globe.
Honda Motor Co. Ltd. was the brainchild of Soichiro Honda, a renowned Japanese industrialist and automobile enthusiast. Since its founding after the 2nd World War, Honda has been at the forefront of the Japanese automotive industry when it comes to technical innovations. What first began as a motorcycle manufacturer in the ‘50s, Honda became synonymous with today’s automotive culture, gaining huge popularity among the young and outspoken automotive enthusiast, and in motorsports.
In the Philippines, Honda’s’ arrival was just in time for that highly-nostalgic ‘90s era. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) began operations in October 1990 with investments from the Ayala Automotive Holdings Corporation and the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation. Together, they paved the way for many Filipino car enthusiasts to experience what it is like to harness the Power of Dreams. In February 1992, HCPI finally was able to commence its manufacturing operations locally. Based in Sta. Rosa Laguna, HCPI’s local manufacturing plant has been at it in building the very best quality vehicles the Japanese automaker has in store.
Currently, HCPI’s line-up consists of the Brio/Brio Amaze, City, Jazz, Civic, Accord, CR-Z, Odyssey, CR-V, and Pilot.
